About Ludlow Engineering Ltd

How did Ludlow Engineering Start?

Ludlow Engineering was born out of a passion – our founder, Dan Ludlow’s, passion for motorsports. A keen racing driver, and an experienced engineer and toolmaker, Dan had the skills and knowledge needed to start manufacturing racing car parts for his own vehicles.

Initially based out of a garage workshop, he soon began making and selling parts for other racing enthusiasts and the business took off. And so, in 2007, Ludlow Engineering was born.

 Accelerating the Business

We’ve expanded and relocated over the last 15 years, and making replacement parts for racing cars is no longer a core element of our business (but Dan still holds a race licence and continues to race in the UK). But we’re still based in Swindon, and still working with an exceptional degree of professionalism, using our extensive experience as engineers.

Dan has now been joined by James Barnett, who started with us as an apprentice and went on to qualify as an engineer.

Valued Expertise

Between them, Dan and James handle projects directly for customers across a range of sectors including water, automotive, food processing, packaging and rooftile production – in fact, our skills are in high demand from manufacturing in general.

We are also sought after sub-contractors for several larger engineering companies, where in many cases we work directly with their clients because they trust us to get the job done quickly and expertly.
